The Teenagers
Luke Szpadt
Right Hand Bat / Right Arm Getting Faster
The 3rd Szpadt to play cricket for Pentyrch, Luke has been blessed like his father with a quick tongue and, like his brother, a quick shoulder. Luke claims to be the owner of 52 cricket balls, but ask him if you can use one and he bites your head off. Luke sat in on his first AGM in December and impressed the top table with his recommendation of building "something" on the boundary. "Something" has yet to be decided on but with this ability to think outside the box a lot more can be expected from this young man. Luke will be hoping to establish himself as a consistent new ball bowler for the 2s' this season and he is certainly a 1st teamer of the future.
Rhys Grant
Right Hand Bat / Right Arm Off-spin
Rhys was a regular member of the 2nd XI during 2006 announcing himself on the team against Chepstow, top scoring with 44, the following week taking 2-25 against Cardiff as well as a contribution of around 30 with the bat. Became an off spinner at the start of 2006 as he realised he didn't have to run so far as the proper bowlers after a brief flirtation with wicket keeping. His passion for over throws is matched only by his team mates passion for failing to back them up; Rhys is the current "One Hand One Bounce" champion of Pentyrch.
